While several brands claim to be the best, one name that stood out for us was Ecosa. This Australian mattress brand manufactures eco-friendly mattresses that suit different preferences.
So, we have reviewed three of their best selling options for our readers to help them make the right choice.

One of the top-selling mattresses from the brand, the Ecosa G-7 is designed to take care of your spinal alignment so that you don’t wake up with a bad back. Moreover, its adjustable firmness feature is engineered to suit back, side and stomach sleepers alike.
The 3-layer foam construction of this mattress can provide the right amount of comfort and rigidity to most sleepers. And the adjustable firmness feature allows you to customise the mattress according to your needs in a matter of minutes.
Out of the box, the mattress comes with the G-7 gel memory foam layer on top, followed by the eco-tex memory foam and ergonomic support foam layers.
Likewise, the firmness in this configuration ranges from medium to medium-firm and firmest, scoring 6, 6.5 and 8 on the 10-point firmness scale, respectively. All you have to do is rearrange the layers to get the desired firmness- yes, it’s that easy!
With the medium layer on top, sleepers can experience optimum pressure relief as the mattress doesn’t cause the body to sink too much. It also offers reasonable support to the body if you’re a back sleeper, conforming to the pressure points on the shoulders and spine. However, stomach sleepers may feel a little uncomfortable, as they can sink deeper into the mattress.
The medium-firm arrangement, on the other hand, can provide optimum support to back and stomach sleepers. We loved how it contours the hip and shoulders to provide ergonomic support, which can be helpful in elevating pain, but side sleepers may not get the right amount of support on it.
Finally, the firm arrangement makes for good spine alignment when laying on the stomach but may not be very helpful for side or back sleepers. And despite being firmer than the other two layers, it doesn’t have the zero partner disturbance feature like innerspring mattresses.
While the gel memory foam layer is integrated with several gel particles to facilitate temperature stabilisation, the ergonomic support foam layer helps with spine alignment and pressure point support. Apart from that, the eco-tex memory foam layer has an open cell design that has significant bounce and durability.
The mattress also has pincore holes, allowing optimal air circulation through all the layers to drive away excess heat and moisture at night. It’s finished off with two covers, the first of which is a German micro-filament technology-infused waterproof inner cover that’s also resistant to dust mites.

The medium arrangement can be achieved by placing the BounceTech Talalay latex foam on top. It’s most suitable for sleepers who like their mattress to conform to their body shape completely and don’t mind “sinking in” a little to get a good night’s sleep. Furthermore, the micro-coil technology contours different bodies and sleeping positions to negate the chances of pain or excessive pressure. Finally, the boundaries of this mattress are guarded by firm springs, which make for sufficient edge support so that you don’t roll off the bed.
The latex foam used in this mattress is sourced from 100% natural sources. Aside from being optimally supportive, it promotes temperature and allergen control to provide a hygienic sleeping environment. It also enhances the breathability of the mattress, thanks to the open cell structure.

The Ecosa vital mattress is a budget-friendly option made from an effective combination of memory foam and 7 zone pocket spring support. Besides, its eco-friendly construction uses recycled plastic and carbon neutral manufacturing to contribute to the betterment of the planet.
Although this mattress doesn’t come with adjustable firmness like its predecessors, we were satisfied with the comfort and support on offer. It can be categorised as a medium firm option, scoring about 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale.
Moreover, the brand claims that it’s suitable for all back, side and stomach sleepers. Its primary feature is the 7 zone pocket spring layer, which provides the right comfort and support for the different pressure points of the body. It also combines with the memory foam and pincore holes to promote optimal air circulation, keeping you cool for prolonged periods.
That said, we should mention here that the inherent bounce of pocket springs makes it somewhat comfortable for people who don’t want a very firm mattress. However, it may negate the no motion transfer capacity of the mattress, so you may need some time to adjust to it, especially if your sleeping partner is a restless sleeper.
The Ecosa Vital mattress is made of 7 layers, the first of which is a removable cover made by recycling 120 plastic bottles recovered from the ocean. Not only does it have a zipper for easy removal, but it’s also machine washable to cut down on maintenance woes.
